A Black Hills Menswear Tradition Since 1983

Michael Konvalin opened Michael’s Menswear in 1983 after a career in accounting. Rather than leave the Black Hills for an opportunity in Pennsylvania, he stayed in Rapid City and built a business around menswear expertise and one-on-one service.

 

Michael’s began on St. Joseph Street in downtown Rapid City. Five years later, the store moved two doors down to 617 St. Joseph St., where it continues serving the community today.

Michael’s has always been about more than selling clothing. The store is built around helping each customer find what works, from everyday menswear to suits, weddings, prom, and special events.

 

That same approach continues with expert measurements, suit sizing through size 60 and beyond, and in-house tailoring and alterations. Alterations are included on new purchases.

Michael’s remains a locally rooted downtown Rapid City menswear store, carrying forward the personal service and experience that have defined the business since 1983.
